These are the most frequently found words in reading and writing. Your child should be able to recognize these words instantly. Knowing these words will help your child become a strong, fluent, and successful reader!

Need Ways to Practice them? Have fun be creative, anything can be turned into learning!
- Memory
- Fly swat (Using index cards tape the words to the fridge and swat the word with a fly swatter)
- Write the words on a beach ball and as you catch it say the word
-Say it, build it, spell it using salt, sand, shaving cream, playdough or magnetic letters
- Type them or paint them or stamp them
- Use the word to create a picture
- Be a word detective and tally how many times you find the word in a given book
- Good old fashion hang man
- Create a crossword or
- Bang/Bam (write the words on Popsicle sticks and the word Bam, whoever pulls the word Bam has to pull all the sticks back in the cup)
- Tic- Tac-Toe instead of XO use the word to fill in the box
- Sight word hopscotch
- While in the car find all the letters you need to spell a sight word
- Learn sign language for the sight word
