Hello and Welcome!
I look forward to meeting you and your child and to see how my passion for teaching can help your student succeed!
What types of services do I provide? I provide remedial help for the struggling students in all academic areas. I provide extra support for the average student who needs a boost. I provide challenging extended activities for the excelling/gifted student. I have worked with students of all learning levels and I personalize my teaching for your students ability level!
What grades levels are you certified to teach?
I am certified K-8 teacher. I also enjoy teaching kinder prep and preschool age levels! I myself have a preschool aged son who I currently homeschool and I love every minute of it!
What times are you available?
I am available after school start at 5 - 9. Monday through Friday and available on weekends; I am very flexible and willing to work with your schedule to best suit your needs.
Where do you provide tutoring?
I usually tutor at the Queen creek Library or in my home; whichever you prefer.
What can I expect the first time we meet?
When we initially meet, I like to give two assessments to your child. The first assessment is a personality test to see what interests your child so that I can customize and tailor the curriculum to their likes and interests. When the subject matter is relevant to your child, they learn more and are more engaged. The second test I give is an inventory assessment to find your child's strengths and struggles in specific subject matters.
Additionally, I give a questionnaire to the parents to find
their outlook on their student's strengths and how their expectations of tutoring can benefit their child.
What can I as a parent bring to the initial meeting?
I ask that when we meet you bring samples of your child's work, teacher's notes, or progress reports this serves as a baseline of your child's academic progress.
Is there a contract?

Is there a contract?
As with anything in life, commitment and dedication are key
to your students success, therefore, I have a contract that says that we both
are dedicated and committed to
facilitating the learning of your child!
How will I know tutoring is working?
I always document and share your child's progress so that you and your student can see the benefit of our collaboration in tutoring.Additionally, I have your child fill out a learning log at the end of each session. Are you tired of asking your child what did you learn at school today and getting next to no response. I created a learning log that provides a parent with insight on what we accomplished during each tutoring session.
Will you work with the current classroom teacher?
Absolutely! Tutoring works best when everyone involved in your child's education is on the same page!

Do you give additional homework?
It depends on the expectations of the parent and the student. However, the homework that I do create is specifically designed for your child's academic needs and it always comes with an explanation of its meaning and purpose. (I HATE and do not believe in Busy work!)
Thank you in advanced for considering me in helping you and
your child succeed in their educational journey!
Emily
